Art is the peace of life. Using art to guide life is an excellent transferal of the quality of life.
Now, a California resident for the past few years, Annie Peony Zhang, has been honing her skills in painting for nearly three decades. She spent most of her life in Guangdong, China, and has been passionate about painting and calligraphy since childhood.
Inspired by the beauty of rural nature in her province, Annie started to paint landscapes in junior high and studied fine arts foundation courses in high school. After college, she attended the highly-respected Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, where she learned the ancient art of various Chinese painting. Later on, her luck brought her to be the pupil of the Chinese famous painter Yim Mau Kun ,California artist Gregory Condos and Jove Wang.
In 2015, Annie moved to California to seek a new life and opportunities to pursue her passion of fine art and painting. She settled in the Sacramento area and quickly assimilated into the local art community and was a featured artist at John Natsoulas Art Center ,Kennedy Art Gallery and Tim Collom Art Gallery, where her works were displayed and sold.
As a full-time artist, she painted the romantic landscapes of her new home, capturing the scenes of everyday life and the ephemeral nature that quickly gained admiration. Each day, she dives deeper into the integration and innovation emotions and creativity through a new artistic language.
Her hard work and talent brought her much recognition from the larger Sacramento community. She has mastered the art of Chinese ink and watercolor painting. Her choice of vibrant colors and impressionist-inspired style makes her unique. She has joined the California Artists Club, and now a well-known artist in her new home.
Annie continues to build relations with the art community in California and her work has been shown and admired in many galleries, especially in Northern California, including the well-known John Natsoula’s Art Center.
Her artwork is collected worldwide and has been displayed in several Northern California art galleries, including the John Natsoula’s Art Center. She has participated in exhibitions and competitions countless times and won several awards.
Important Note: Some of Annie’s artworks like “Childhood,” “Wish,” and “Memories”,”Old Car Series No3″painted in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 respectively ,were accepted into Crocker Art Museum, BNSA Auction, and were successfully auctioned. Her work “Beautiful California,” “Delta Scenery,” “Sacramento River of North California,” and many more were added into the Morris Graves Museum of Art collection.
